LAKE HUGHES — An instructor at a northern Los Angeles County probation camp was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats. Julian Gallarza, 56, a longtime Probation Department employee who works as an instructor at the Camp Mendenhall juvenile boot camp in the Lake Hughes area, tucked between Palmdale and Castaic, was arrested Tuesday after threatening to go an a rampage. Sheriff’s Lt. Lawrence Del Mese said deputies found loaded weapons in Gallarza’s car. Gallarza was booked for investigation of making terrorist threats and remained in custody with bail set at $50,000. Gallarza is accused of making threats about noon to another Camp Mendenhall employee. Gallarza told the other employee he was “having issues with co-workers and problems at home,” Del Mese said.
