first_img Previous Article Next Article The Equal Opportunities Commission has called for more parental rights forfathers after the Government announced it would extend unpaid maternity leavefor mothers. Women will be entitled to a year’s maternity leave under new measuresunveiled last week by the DTI. Unpaid maternity leave will be extended by threemonths to a year. Julie Mellor, chair of the EOC, urged the DTI to consider extendingpaternity leave rights.
