first_imgDonegal GAA star Eamon McGee has taken to Twitter to respond to the article penned by Kevin Cassidy in his weekly column with Gaelic Life.Cassidy wrote a hard hitting column regarding the latest fixtures fall-out in Donegal and blasted the decision by the county board.Cassidy said that time and time again it’s the ordinary club player that is made to suffer and that enough is enough. He also said it was time that the county players grow a set of balls and stand up for their club.Cassidy says that without their local GAA club the current crop of county stars wouldn’t have been given the platform to perform at the level they’re now operating at.However, McGee hit back on Twitter and brought up the fact that Cassidy sat and watched his own club Gaoth Dobhair play Glenswilly in the Donegal SFC in May so he could go and play for a team in the USA.McGee tweeted, “Cass is giving out about commitment to clubs, yet he watched as we played Glenswilly this year to play for team in USA. That tweeted sparked a series of responses on McGee’s Twitter timeline from other users.Conor Gleeson wrote, “Inter-county players are least qualified to comment on this situation. What he’s saying is not specific to Donegal. 100% Right!Mike Linehan wrote. “Cassidy is spot on with that article.McGee responded by saying, “Not arguing that he makes a good point but his actions in real life totally contradict his view points. In another tweet McGee also conceded that something has to be done fairly quick to sort out the yearly problem with club fixtures in Donegal. McGee will continue to concentrate on preparations for this weekend’s Ulster SFC final against Monaghan.McGee has enjoyed an excellent season so far and is a top-class performer who will be hoping he gets his hands on yet another Anglo Celt on Sunday afternoon.MCGEE RESPONDS TO CASSIDY’S ARTICLE ON CLUB FIXTURES FALL-OUT was last modified: July 13th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:Eamon McGeeFall-outfixturesGAAKevin CassidynewsRiwSportTwiiterlast_img read more
