Both the phones offer droplet-style notches with minimal bezels all around for a more immersive viewing experience. The Galaxy M10 brings a 6.2-inch TFT display with an HD+ resolution, while the M20 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display. Both the phones also meet with Widevine L1 standard.advertisementThe Galaxy M10 and M20 are similar in looks as they both come with plastic back panels in two colour options – Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black. The biggest difference is that the M20 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the M10 only offers a facial recognition feature. The M20 is also the only one among the two to get a Type-C port with support for 15W fast charging. Under the hood, there is a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 chipset powering the M10, and a new Exynos 7904 chipset powering the M20. Both the phones support storage expandability via microSD card up to 512GB. The Galaxy M20 is also the first Samsung phone to come with a 5,000mAh battery, while the M10 gets a 3,400mAh capacity. Both the Galaxy M phones come with similar dual camera setups on the back. Both the phones also ship with Android 8.1 Oreo with a new Experience UI 9.5 on top, which Samsung says has been customised to offer a cleaner UI. Samsung has confirmed that the phones will receive Android Pie later this year.Samsung Galaxy M10, M20: Which one should you buy?The Galaxy M10 and M20 both slot in two different price brackets in the affordable segment. If you’re on a strict budget and cannot spend a rupee more than Rs 10,000, then the Galaxy M10 is the obvious choice. You get an attractive waterdrop display and an ultra wide-angle camera, both of which are uncommon in this segment. The chipset is good enough for basic day-to-day tasks, but not for consumers looking to play a lot of PUBG on it. The M10 offers a day long battery life and decent cameras for its price, making for a well-rounded budget smartphone. But if you can spend a little extra, the Galaxy M20 offers a lot more exciting features. The waterdrop display with a 1080p resolutions looks great and will please those who love to stream a lot of media or play games. The display more than makes up for the uninspiring plastic rear panel. You also get a solid two-day battery life thanks to a massive 5,000mAh battery. If these are the two features you’re looking for in an affordable phone, the Galaxy M20 is the one to go for. The new Exynos chip also manages to handle games like PUBG well on medium graphics, and the experience is even better with that Infinity-V display. You can also check out our detailed comparison between the Galaxy M10 and M20.
